Mouth Work

An O, a snarl, lapping, licking, tongues
and teeth. Sweet, salty, sour, savory.
A drop of hot sauce, a clot of warm pearls.
To swallow, spit, imbibe, to laugh, to scream.

A sore on gums, hot white, with salt you wash,
with alcohol and mint, to kill the taste.
To fashion rings, your agile lips mold smoke
To pleasure them, the suction stokes hot skin

To groan, to bite, to gnash, to moan, to eat.
Saliva, bile, mucus, and warm blood.
An entry way, an exit for your speech.
The sharpest weapon and the softest touch.

The mouth, a servant and commander bound.
To rhyme, to reason, make the earth with sound.
