Here are the key dates that you should have in your head:
On Tuesday, February 10: I will be introducing the Policy Memo assignment. The assignment description is here. You can find a sample policy memo on the Canvas files page. It is called "Moldova Sample Paper." It is considerably longer than what you are being asked to produce, but it should give you some idea of how these policy memos sound.
By Friday, February 13: Complete the Foreign Affairs/Public Policy Introduction Assignment on Canvas.
By Monday, February 16: Submit your Burback Response. This assignment asks you to look at some problems associated with the unpredictability, unreliability, and under-regulation of LLMs.
This week: Begin reading Jesus' Son by Denis Johnson. We're going to use this book for a future assignment, and it makes more sense to read a few stories from the book every week for the next few weeks than to overwhelm yourself with reading several weeks from now.
